opera
AAM have been delivering opera into cinemas since early 2008, bringing many superb operas and world-class stars from stages around the world to cinemas across Europe. Opera in cinemas is a great way to see performances if you can’t get to see them in the venue itself. Great visuals, close ups and incredible sound really do make it the next best thing to being there, and all for the price of a cinema ticket.
AAM was proud to be the exclusive cinema partner of Opus Arte, the Royal Opera House’s production company, for the 2008-09 Season. Beginning in September 2008 with a live transmission of Don Giovanni - the opening night of the Royal Opera House’s season - to over 100 cinemas, the season went on to include 14 performances, culminating in June 2009 with a live transmission of La Traviata to over 175 cinemas in 9 European countries. With venues including The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona and Teatro Real, Madrid, and stars such as Plácido Domingo, Simon Keenlyside and Renée Fleming, AAM’s first full season of opera and ballet was a wonderful success.
Discussions are now underway for exciting new events, both live and recorded, in 2009-10. Watch this space for an announcement of what’s coming up next.
